The recent photograph of President Trump saluting the deceased veterans who were killed in Iran was repugnant. The president saluted while wearing a Trump-themed golf cap as the coffins passed him. These coffins were filled with the bodies of veterans to whom the president has applied the generic description as “losers” and “suckers” (New York Times, 9/4/2020; The Atlantic Magazine, 9/3/2020). The president’s actions were not merely immoral. They were amoral.
