Quick reminder: Many Democratic candidates are running unopposed and their names will not be on the Democratic ballot. In Rowan County, the Democratic primary ballot will include 3 contested offices. The primary winners will go on to run against Republican candidates in the November midterm election. You can vote for these 3 offices on a Democratic Primary ballot during Early Voting or on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Don’t forget to bring valid photo Identification.

NOTE on Weekend Voting: If you need or prefer to vote on the weekend, there is only one Sunday available, February 15. There are two Saturdays to vote, February 14 and February 28.  There is NO early voting on Saturday, February 21 or Sunday, February 22. 

REGISTRATION: If you still need to register or correct your registration, you must register during Early Voting and vote at one of the 3 Early Voting sites. Only people who registered before 2/6/26 may vote on Election Day, Tuesday, March 3.

REGISTRATION REPAIR NEEDED FOR PEOPLE ON THIS LIST: Over 600 people people in Rowan County need to correct details related to a prior registration. It’s an easy check. Use this list and contact the Rowan County Elections Board if your name is on the list in the link.

PRIMARY CANDIDATE FACTS TO NOTE: There are many contested races on the Republican primary ballot. For example, 11 Republican candidates are running for 3 open seats on the Rowan County Board of Elections. Democrats have 3 Democratic candidates for each of those seats and all 3 of our candidates will be on the General election ballot in the fall. There is not a Democratic candidate for Rowan County Sheriff.
