SALISBURY, NC – The midterm elections are coming up, and Rowan County voters will be voting in several downballot races. Community members are invited to meet the local Democratic candidates at the Rowan County Democratic Party’s August FunFest. This event will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 12:00 pm at Shoaf’s Wagon Wheel (151 Barn Dance Drive, Salisbury, NC). 

FunFest is a lunch potluck that will feature nearly all of the local Democratic candidates who will be on the ballot in November, including candidates running for seats on the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education, the Rowan County Board of Commissioners, and the North Carolina General Assembly.

“We have a lot to be excited about as we head into the November election,” said RCDP Chair Geoffrey Hoy. “We have a full slate of local candidates. These folks are small business owners, educators, and dedicated public servants who represent the diversity and strength of our communities.” 

This event is free and open to the community. You do not have to be a registered Democrat to attend. Attendees are welcome to bring a dish to share, or just bring themselves. Music by the Demos Band as you arrive. Time to mingle with candidates and new and old friends before you hear from the candidates.
