Words of gratitude to his community, this day of thanks giving.
Today I am especially thankful for our caring community! The fear filled prospect of ICE or Border Patrol agents in our county indiscriminately picking up persons of brown skin brought a magnificent response. We spread the word calling persons who care about our neighbors “Come, be trained to respond by
documenting actions by these agents”. The response was overwhelming! All told, over 80 people responded and received training on how to safely photograph or video any questionable actions.
WE proved that we live in a community of care for vulnerable Hispanic neighbors,
friends, children and adults.
We now have over 40 people actively engaged in rapid response teams who track down and dispel rumors and document any suspicious activity.
Thank you to all who make up our community of concern.
