Friday, November 14th, at 11:00 am at the Rowan County Elections Board. The Two Nanas just found out that Election Boards across NC will soon be voting on the 2026 Early Voting calendar for the 2026 General Elections Primaries. Your presence and/or voices are once again needed! (yes, this has to be done with all elections and 2026 is quite important!)

  • Rowan Elections Board will meet on Friday, November 14th, at 11:00 am at the Rowan County Elections Board to select the Early Voting Calendar for 2026 primaries. Because of construction, allow time to park and walk through the old mall to the Election Board offices. Try to arrive by 10:45 am.
  • Why do we need to show up again? As far as we know, this will be a one and done decision, so we need to remind Rowan Election Board members that their duty is to listen to the people and select a plan that benefits the voters across our large county with a plan that provides the most opportunities for citizens to exercise their right to vote!
  • Why 17 days? Why wouldn’t we want 17 consecutive days of Early Voting during this most important 2026 General Election Primary? We’ve had 17 days before.
  • Organize, don’t agonize! Show up, email the Board Members, and write Letters to the Editor. Our voices matter. (contact details at the end of this email.)
  • Don’t allow those who want to suppress the vote and voice of the people think we aren’t paying attention. Bring friends and forward this email to those interested.

Write the Board of Elections:

  • Whether attending or absent, please email the new Rowan County Election Board members with your Early Voting choice and a short sentence or statement of your belief in accessible voting for all voters.. Reach the Board by emailing Director Sharon Main at sharon.main@rowancountync.gov These emails need to arrive by Thursday, November 13th in order to be shared with the five Board Members. Dave Collins, chair; Catrelia Hunter, secretary; Kenneth Stutts, Elaine Hewitt, and John Leatherman. You can also email Board member Kenneth Stutts directly at: Kenneth.Stutts@rowancountync.gov
  • Since we never know what might happen at these meetings, please consider bringing a copy of your signed and dated letter to the meeting to enter into the record in case we don’t get to speak. (handwritten works just as well as typed)
  • Caution to any Election Judge or paid election workers – Your civic duty within the polls takes precedence over joining this group. Your knowledge and first hand view of previous voting plans are important. As always, because of your trusted position within our elections community, it is necessary and prudent that any communication from you is not perceived as being partisan in any way or as a slight to any members of the Board or Election staff.
