Here in Rowan County, four Early Voting plans are being considered.  Only one of these plans — called Plan D — provides our citizens with a robust 17 consecutive days of voting (including Saturdays and Sundays) beginning February 12th and ending February 28th.

“We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.” -Thomas Jefferson

I am writing to request that the Rowan County Election Board provide voters with 17 consecutive days of Early Voting in the 2026 North Carolina primary election. Working families, folks with mobility issues, shift workers, educators, and all other Rowan County citizens are best served by this voting plan.

North Carolina’s 2026 Primary Election Day is set for March 3, 2026. State election laws provide additional days of early voting opportunities prior to Election Day.  Each county’s election board determines how many early voting days are allotted for its citizens.

Here in Rowan County, four Early Voting plans are being considered.  Only one of these plans — called Plan D — provides our citizens with a robust 17 consecutive days of voting (including Saturdays and Sundays) beginning February 12th and ending February 28th.

This Friday, November 14th at 11:00am, our Election Board will meet at the Rowan County Board of Elections Office at 1935 Jake Alexander Boulevard West to discuss and vote on the 2026 early voting plan for the primary election.   All citizens are encouraged to attend this meeting to voice their desires for the pending Early Voting Plan.
