We regularly post letters that authors provide to Voters Speak. We can’t even begin to cover all the opinion letters to the Salisbury Post. Here’s a montage with several you might want to consider reading. Never forget how fortunate we are to still have a local paper as more and more small papers fold across the country.
Proud Antifascist by Stephen Pocklington
I am proud to call myself an anti-fascist. My father lied about his age to join the Army and fight against the fascists. My uncle stormed the beach at Normandy and fought fascists all the way to Berlin. My father-in-law joined the Marines and fought them in the South Pacific. Courageously fighting to defeat fascism made those men The Greatest Generation…

The real terrorist groups by Ed Hege
Antifa? Really? What about the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers? Oh, I forgot… they have already been pardoned.

Meet your local left-wing domestic terrorist by Scott Huffman
Imagine opening the Nextdoor app and seeing your photo under the headline: “Meet Your Local Left-Wing Domestic Terrorist.” That’s what a fake troll account did. Not because I incited violence. Not because I broke laws. But because I dared to speak openly. I posted a comment that reflected the frustration many Americans feel watching hate masquerade as patriotism, and suddenly I became the villain in their story. It’s as if using the word “Karma” was the same as if I was the one who did it in Utah.

The wise words of Rev. Martin Liemoller by Rev. Dr. Steve Hannah
Rev. Martin Niemoller, a Lutheran minister, is known as the author of one of the most remembered quotations regarding the Nazi rule of Germany before and during World War II. He was among the many who were fooled by Hitler as he supported Hitler in the 1920s and early 1930s. But by 1934, he joined Karl Barth (believed by many to be the most prominent Protestant Theologian of the 20th century) and Dietrich Bonhoeffer (who left safety in the U. S. in 1939 to return to Germany and work against Hitler and who was executed in 1944 for these efforts) to form The Confessing Church. The Confessing Church was a movement against the efforts of Hitler to control the German churches…

The real culprit by Richard Evans
I had the unfortunate experience of seeing an interview with Nancy Macy on CNN this morning. During this spot on national news, she saw fit to say the shooting of Charlie Kirk was the fault of left wing, liberal Democrats…

What else would we expect? by Roger Hull
We have a president who incites and foments violence. What else would we expect?

Silence is compliance by Joanne Bryla
Around 1 a.m. on Aug. 31, there were 600 children sitting on planes in the U.S. awaiting deportation back to Guatemala. Children — alone. Although the government says differently, the fact that it was done in the dark of night tells us that those in charge fully understood that this horrendous act was so wrong. Thankfully, a U.S. judge intervened…

Eyes on the lies by Johannes Silentius
Verily I say to you: “Most everything Trump denies will be true and most everything he says is true will be a lie!” Look back at his public statements!

Some town Hall that was by Eric Marsh
On Aug. 27, I received a telephone call from the office of Congressman Addison McDowell linking me to a tele-townhall meeting. This format allows callers to submit questions which are then filtered so that the congressman gets softballs. We heard his responses to about a dozen different topics. Three of those responses really stood out…
