All are invited to be part of this Nationwide Mayday Day of Action. 50501 partners with host, Rowan County Democratic Party, to provide 3 different activities. Join your neighbors of all persuasions as “We the People” move forward in engagement and learn specific skills for defending democracy.
Show up at Rowan County Democratic HQ, 1504 W. Innes Street, on Saturday, May 3rd, from 3-5 pm to meet neighbors who support your values. 50501 is preparing for what is ahead these next 4 years and nonviolent training and connecting with community is the action plan for this Saturday. Select one of the 3 activities below and show up on the 3rd at 3:00 pm, ready to take action!
1. Register new voters. Training provided.
2. Canvass (knock on doors) of targeted voters who are most likely to welcome factual information and discussion about what Rowan’s Senator Tillis is actually supporting and voting for and how much of it doesn’t help the people in Rowan County. Training provided. (You won’t be alone.)
3. Attend a session on Kingian Nonviolence to learn about the principles and steps of organizing a nonviolent campaign.
This event will begin at the Rowan County Democratic Party Headquarters (1504 W. Innes St.) from 3:00-5:00 pm. Rowan Democrats are hosting and assisting at this Saturday’s event.
