Rowan County Senior Democrats Meeting – January 21st at 1pm

| Join Senior Democrats on Tuesday, Jan. 21st at 1:00 pm at RCDP Headquarters, 1504 West Innes Street, Salisbury, NC 28144. Chair Geoffrey Hoy will lead a book talk based upon what he’s been reading following the November election. Attendees are encouraged to bring your recommendations and help us all become more knowledgeable as we enter 2025. We can’t change minds if we don’t have the knowledge to help us move forward with democratic values in the face of MAGA and a Republican majority in both houses as well as our Red Rowan and red NC State Legislature.
Chair Hoy will share two books from his reading – Stolen Pride, Loss, Shame, and the Rise of the Right by Arlie Russell Hochschild. There’s lots to be learned from Eastern Kentucky! The second book, The Quiet Damage, Qanon and the Destruction of the American Family, by Jesselyn Cook is a compassionate, yet terrifying, description of the descent into an alternate reality by folks, friends, and family that you may know.
