This weekend was one for the books in Rowan County, between summer festivals kicking off and another piece of political action!

Sunday, citizens not just from Rowan County, but all of North Carolina’s Congressional District 6 gathered to voice concerns and speak with their legislators in a local town hall organized by Scott Huffman and District 6 Concerned Citizens.

Sadly, no elected officials attended, but candidates and citizens from around the state did!

We’ve gathered all of the candidate speeches in one place for you – speakers included Wiley Nickel (running for US Senate), Alysa Kassay and Beau Blair (CD06), Justin Dues (CD08), Nigel Bristow (CD09), Ashley Bell (CD10), and Adrian Maldonado (Salisbury City Council)!

Two of the candidates who were in attendance are running for our Congressional House seat, CD06 (currently occupied by Addison McDowell [R]).

Video coming soon! Check back later today, or check out our YouTube channel for something to watch in the meanwhile!

Other candidates included one of our local Democrats, Adrian Maldonado, and several candidates from around the state: Wiley Nickel, Nigel Bristow, Justin Dues, and Ashley Bell.
