The Rowan County Democratic Party urges all voters to vote AGAINST the Rowan-Salisbury Schools Board of Education Election Method referendum on your 2024 ballot for the following reasons.

1. This referendum would force political labels on all candidates. Currently, School Board candidates do not have a party designation.

2. To simply get their name printed on the ballot any Unaffiliated candidate will have to get signatures from 4% of registered voters in the school district. That is approximately 4000 signatures and that number will probably increase as registrations increase during the 2024 election.

3. This Referendum would force candidates to run in primaries.

4. To the best of our knowledge, this Referendum was not asked for by the people of Rowan County.

5. We urge all voters, to vote AGAINST this referendum.
