I’ve helped build family farm and food businesses now worth $4 billion. Our state’s farms are disappearing faster than anywhere else and our growers are making as little as half per acre as farmers in Virginia or Georgia. – We’ve been using the same playbook under the same Commissioner of Agriculture for 20 years. It’s time for a change. Learn about Dr. Sarah Taber’s plan for NC. https://taberfornc.com/

Don’t miss the interview.

Sarah Taber is running as a Democrat for North Carolina’s Commissioner of Agriculture. She discusses her 2024 campaign with PBS NC’s Kelly McCullen. This interview was recorded on Monday, August 12, 2024.

How Taber’s campaign is going and how her candidacy can help turn out the vote in 2024 and help elect candidates up and down the ballot as well as defeating her opponent.

My opponent is a 20-year incumbent, running for his sixth term. He won his last two elections by an average of 9.5 points.

But now? He’s down to 43%. I’m at 39%.

And 18% of our neighbors are undecided.

This is a FOUR-POINT race.

*What does this mean?*

I’ve already cut his lead by over HALF. In fact, we’re within the margin of error: we could be slightly ahead. But the important thing is we’re gaining ground.

When voters hear our message, we WIN. The big question is: will voters hear it?

That’s where you come in.

I’m one of North Carolina’s strongest Democratic candidates with younger voters. If I can reach them, we boost youth turnout in the whole state. I’m also winning among moderates. And I’m even winning over some conservatives, with an economic message that’s hard to ignore about how our ag sector is failing to keep up and can be doing MUCH more.

So we know that my message wins. Now, the challenge is getting it in front of every single North Carolinian. And many of the remaining voters we need can only be reached effectively by TV ads.
