Municipal Elections for every town & city board in Rowan will take place in November 2023.

Candidate Filing for these local offices will start on Friday, July 7th at noon and will end on July 21st at noon. 

The following Town Board Positions are up for Election in 2023:

  • Mayor –  $5  – One Seat
  • Council – $5 – Two Seats
• Cleveland
  • Mayor –  $5 – One Seat
  • Commission – $5 – Three Seats
• East Spencer
  • Mayor –  $10 – One Seat
  • Board of Aldermen – $5 – Three Seats
• Faith
  • Board of Aldermen – $5 – Five Seats
• Granite Quarry
  • Mayor –  $5 – One Seat
  • Board of Aldermen – $5 – Three Seats
• Kannapolis
  • Council – $30 – Three Seats
• Landis
  • Mayor –  $5 – One Seat
  • Board of Aldermen – $5 – Two Seats
• Rockwell
  • Mayor – $5 – One Seat
  • Board of Aldermen – $5 – Five Seats
• Salisbury
  • Mayor – $10 – One Seat
  • Council – $10 – Four Seats
• Spencer
  • Mayor – $5 – One Seat
  • Board of Aldermen – $5 – Six Seats

Filing fees are subject to change up until the beginning of the filing period. 

Filing takes place at the Rowan County Board of Elections.

Election Day in 2023 is on Tuesday, November 7th.

Early Voting starts on Thursday, Oct. 19th, 2023 (the specific times and locations for Early Voting will be determined later by the Rowan County Board of Elections).

There are no Primary Elections for town or city board positions in Rowan.
